Student journey officer International Degree Programs (50%)
FUNCTIE
You will help build a strong and high quality support system and community within the English taught programs of Business Management and Applied Computer Science.
As student journey officer you take care of the contacts with the students during their student journey (first-year student to graduation and beyond)
You are the central person for international student affairs, working closely with all relevant actors within the university college and student services of UCLL
You are the first point of contact for the international students of the programs:
You provide the needed information students before their arrival in Belgium
You guide students in their search for accommodation, help them with administrative formalities.
You put admitted students in contact with each other before their arrival and encourage them to maintain these contacts.
You invent, organize and facilitate extracurricular and social activities
(e.g. airport pick-up, preparatory days for new students, cultural events encouraging integration, community building activities, ….)
You ensure that students are optimally informed before their arrival in Belgium
You support students with administrative and legal obligations
You have knowledge of the complexity of a multicultural student population and advise lecturers who teach the international students and study track coaches regarding their guidance.
You are the contact person for the international student associations
You initiate new initiatives that support students in their student journey
You are responsible for the evaluation of the student guidance: you discuss and research experiences with students and colleagues, monitor and take care of necessary adjustments
You identify bottlenecks, bring actors together and look for appropriate solutions
You work closely together with the International Recruitment Officer and the Digital marketing specialist for the International programs.
In consultation with the program managers, you determine the use of the available resources in function of the realization of the objectives and you manage optimally the allocated budget.
PROFIEL
You have a bachelor or master degree.
You have a moving mind and are keen to contribute to the development of the International programs
You were preferably a foreign student in Belgium or you studied abroad. (practical experience)
You are results-oriented with an eye for detail and respect for deadlines
You have a critical mind, but always remain positive
You are enthusiastic and warmhearted, ready to dedicate yourself fully to the well-being of the International students.
You take initiative, see opportunities/problems and take action to convert them into improvement or renewal actions
You are a team player and very service oriented
Evening and weekend work do not deter you.
Due to receiving new students at the beginning of the academic year, you need to be available during the last 2 weeks of August.
You speak and write English fluently.
You speak and write Dutch or you are willing to learn (leading to B2 level within max 2 years)
Knowledge of an additional foreign language is an asset.
Knowledge of the obligations associated with student/work visa is an advantage.
You continuously keep up-to-date of evolutions and developments within this field so that you can assume your role as an ambassador.

Permanent contract preferably from 01/09/2025
As an internal ATP candidate or on contract, you will retain your current status. If you are OP, you will receive ATP status through a temporary change of status
Salary with bar scale for bachelor 316 (B21 of for master 585 (ATP A11)
Up to 10 years of useful professional experience may be recognized in recruitment
Full reimbursement for commuting by public transportation and/or bicycle
Location is campus Proximus in Heverlee.
