SOCIAL EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

  • SPORTHOUSE 230 Harensesteenweg Vilvoorde, Vlaanderen, 1800 Belgium (kaart)

ORGANISATIE

In football, some of the most important stories unfold away from the pitch. A reaction on the sidelines. A moment inside the stadium. A supporter story or a detail that suddenly becomes part of the conversation. On a busy Jupiler Pro League weekend, spotting those moments takes sharp editorial instinct, creativity and a constant feel for what's happening around the game.

Sporthouse is a multi-disciplinary sports content and communications agency. We help brands, leagues, federations, media and athletes translate the emotion of sport into stories that resonate with fans and travel across platforms. We work with some of the biggest names in Belgian and international sport, and every weekend, Belgian football is our home turf.

FUNCTIE

We're looking for an experienced Social Editor-in-Chief to lead the editorial direction of our weekend coverage.

What you'll do

You are the editorial heartbeat of our live coverage on Jupiler Pro League match days. Saturdays and Sundays are full working days dedicated to live coverage; Fridays and Mondays may include half-day shifts for research, preparation and debriefing. Match days set the pace, you set the direction. In total 3 days.

You will:

  • Lead the editorial and storytelling direction during weekend live shifts

  • Hunt for the stories around matches, clubs, players and supporters with the strongest social potential

  • Translate those stories into clear, creative briefings for content creators, and guide them in sharpening ideas, angles and executions

  • Make fast editorial decisions in a high-paced live environment while guarding a consistent tone

  • Prepare upcoming match weekends through editorial research and story development

  • Evaluate each weekend's coverage in editorial debriefs and raise the bar for the next one

PROFIEL

  • You have at least 4 years of experience in an editorial role, social media publishing or digital sports content

  • You have strong editorial judgement: you recognise the moment worth turning into a story before anyone else does

  • Belgian football is part of your world,  you follow the Jupiler Pro League, its clubs and its wider culture closely

  • You understand how stories travel across social platforms and how to adapt an angle to each channel

  • You are confident briefing and guiding creators, and you combine creativity with structure and a sharp eye for detail

  • You stay calm under pressure and are comfortable making quick calls during live coverage

  • A weekend-focused rhythm suits you: full days on Saturday and Sunday, with possible half-day shifts on Friday and Monday

AANBOD

Vilvoorde · Weekend-focused role · Senior (4+ years)

  • A key editorial role at the heart of Belgian football, every single weekend

  • The opportunity to shape live social coverage around Belgium's biggest sports competition

  • A varied role combining live editorial leadership, research, preparation and evaluation

  • Responsibility, creative freedom and direct impact

  • A tight-knit team of strategists, editors, creators and producers

INTERESSE?

Send us your CV and show us how you think editorially. Share examples of stories, campaigns or live coverage you helped shape, and tell us why you're the person who spots the moment before everyone else does.
