FUNCTIE
As our Collective Care Coordinator, you’ll lead the development and implementation of care and safety strategies across Horst events. You’ll play a key role in building safer, more inclusive environments - both on and off site - by managing volunteer teams, responding to incidents with care, and weaving the values of Collective Care into every part of our work. From strategy to hands-on support, you’ll ensure our spaces remain welcoming, respectful, and supportive for all.
Develop a yearly strategy focused on care and safety across Club nights, the Festival, and Open Air events
Design and manage a volunteer programme, including recruitment, selection, training, and support
Coordinate the Collective Care team during the Horst Festival and Open Air (shift planning, briefings, communication, follow-up)
Take the lead during one shift at each club weekend
Set up and manage the Safer Space on site (festival specific)
Receive and follow up on reports (such as boundary-crossing behaviour, emergency care, and referrals to external support) (festival specific)
Be the point of contact for collaboration with production, communications, and community teams
Handle post-event follow-ups such as collecting feedback, writing reports, and suggesting improvements
Help integrate the mission and vision of Collective Care into the daily work of all teams and departments
PROFIEL
You have experience in nightlife, care work, wellbeing, and/or festivals
You’re a strong organiser with an empathetic and supportive leadership style
You're good with people and feel comfortable coordinating and supporting volunteers
You’re comfortable working independently and taking initiative
You’re familiar with inclusive practices and working with diverse communities (POC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent audiences)
You’re available on weekends and during festival periods
You’re skilled at planning, prioritising, and keeping an overview
You stay calm under pressure and adapt easily to changing situations
You work as a freelancer

A freelance contract for around 40 days throughout the year (depending on the event calendar)

During the festival, we provide extras such as food and drink allowances, VIP meals, merchandise, and more
